Hello! My name is Jyoti. I was born in Uttarakhand, India, and raised in Delhi so I have a neutral Hindi accent. I've been living in Chandigarh since 2004. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical and after completing my graduation I started working as a private tutor because of my love for teaching. I enjoy painting, reading, photography, music, movies, organizing, and going for evening runs in nature. I love meeting and interacting with people from different cultures and backgrounds, as this broadens my general knowledge and understanding of the world.Me as a Teacher
I believe teaching should be fun and interactive. I share the structure, techniques, and needful resources and give language learners tips and advice to learn the language in a better way. I like to create effective, interactive, and structured lessons for my students depending on their needs.
I've had experience tutoring students of all different ages, including students in kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school, as well as working adults, so I can tailor my class material and assignments to your needs and goals.
I have an inquiry-based learning approach, which means I encourage students to actively participate in class and take initiative in their own learning.My lessons & teaching style
I am very flexible with my teaching. I think students learn the best when they get the chance to talk about something they enjoy. I will be happy to plan lessons for topics that interest you. I am also happy to focus on a particular skill or objective, like passing an exam or traveling to India.
After assessing your level of Hindi, I will help you to improve by correcting mistakes whenever required.

Jyoti always makes classes fun. Before the start of the lesson, I had a lot on my mind. But after a brief catch-up chat, I forgot my problems and concentrated on the class. We talked about films, and then I did some reading. Everything I said was in Hindi, and the time flew by. I have improved a lot in one year.

Another great lesson with Jyoti. She is an amazing Hindi teacher. She is very knowledgable and her teaching structure makes easy to learn so as long as you do your part. I am happy that after a few lessons I am starting to feel more confident with Hindi and Jyoti noticed so she is adding more vocab to challenge me. I always look forward to our lessons.

I started taking Hindi lessons with Jyoti in 2020 and saw my Hindi level go from barely able to hold a conversation to feeling comfortable reading, writing and speaking. After taking a break from Hindi for a year and a half to focus on other languages, I'm now coming back to take lessons with Jyoti because I love my lessons with her. She's always well prepared for each lesson and is the right mix of instructive and encouraging.

I'm enjoying our weekly Hindi class. Jyoti is a wonderful teacher and I am really grateful for her and the manner she teaches. She's always with a great smile and attitude. She really is on the student's team supporting 100%. I have a background in teaching elementary, but Jyoti is such a professional teacher and she knows how to meet you where you are at and motivate you.
