I have a degree in French Linguistics. Currently I am doing a masters in Translation. I graduated from an international high school in Luxembourg where I had all my classes in English and have studied abroad in France (UCO Angers) and Scotland (University of Glasgow) during my university years.
In learning and teaching languages I use the natural acquisition approach, according to which spending time engaged with real and interesting content in the target language is more effective than engaging in a rational analysis of the structure of that language.
Me as a Teacher
I am aware that some students might not have easy access to good French study materials so I will be willing to share my textbooks with you. Throughout the years I have accumulated a wide array of materials for all levels and interests coming from all of the threemain French publishers Hachette, Cle and Didier. These will come in handy should your goal in taking the lessons be school or test preparation or if you are a linguistically minded person.
I possess the experience and the materials necessary to help you prepare for DELF, DALF and TCF exams.
For the Japanese classes I use Minnanonihongo I&II (みんなの日本語I&II) and Genki I&II (げんきI&II).
My lessons & teaching style
It is important to create a relaxed and judgement-free environment in order for the learning to be effective. The student is always the centre of attention in my lessons and I always try to get to know the student as much as I can. Depending on your preferences we will either use a textbook, or engage in conversation either free or based on a topic. Reading a newspaper article (articles coming from Le Monde or Le Monde Diplomatique are albeit challenging, use a wide array of grammatical structures and vocabularly and are great for learning), a short story or the like can also be an option.

Martynas is a fantastic teacher, he is so patient with me as I fumble my way through learning French! He has an excellent bank of teaching material making it easy to follow each teaching point. Merci beaucoup Martynas! Looking forward to the next set of classes!

Martynas has all the answers, and I'm glad to be learning with someone who can answer my questions quickly - he has all the Japanese vocabulary and grammar down pat!

It. Was. Great!!! I was very nervous, because I've only just started learning French (high school doesn't count), then somewhere in the middle I realized I had gotten less nervous because he stuck to speaking French and that was pushing me to find ways to express myself and I just loved it. When I realized I was less nervous, I got more nervous again (haha! Oh, the dilemma) and started speaking in English. He went with my comfort level and responded in English, but quickly reverted to French soon after. I am very impressed. Thank you so much Martynas and I look forward to our future lessons.

We were able to go over the first paragraph of a Japanese journal that I wrote. He said that it was easy to follow along with, overall. There were a few grammar and vocabulary mistakes, as I had gotten a little overambitious in trying to push my limits with learning Japanese, but Martynas Sensei was very understanding, encouraging, and gave me some good advice. We went over some new grammar today as well, and as always, he did a great job breaking down, explaining, and giving context to everything. He is very knowledgeable, and very patient too :o)

Today was the longest I conversed with Martynas Sensei in Japanese. Even though I could not understand everything he said to me, we were able to go over all of it once we were finished. We also spent time going over some new grammar, and he seems to be showing interest in new things I'm learning in my Japanese study. He even recommended a language exchange app for making Japanese friends, which I will try to look into very soon.
