Juan Carlos has such effective methods in making you feel safe to speak and practice your Spanish, i feel incredibly indebted to him for helping me build my confidence in speaking another language. The environment he creates helps you grow your skills even if you are only able to dedicate the one hour with him a week. I feel like I’m having so much fun WHILE learning new vocabulary, actively practicing multiple tenses, and testing new ways to speak Spanish sentences. THANK YOU!!!!!

Here is my review written for anyone looking for a new teacher: just stop looking and book your first class with Juan Carlos. You can read 100 reviews on here and I promise they will all say Juan is an excellent teacher and that he continually looks for new ways to help his students. He makes his classes interesting and it is obvious that he enjoys helping his students learn. I was very nervous to start learning Spanish online, but nothing replaces speaking with a native speaker. Juan made me feel comfortable from the very beginning and I love how much I learn and improve every week. I look forward to each of my classes and they always live up to my expectations.

Juan is a fantastic teacher!!!! I am extremely happy with his teaching methods. He has given me the confidence I need to converse in Spanish. He is great as a teacher, he is a very patient listener, he also ensures I speak in Spanish. My classes with him have been a lot of fun. I am always looking forward for my next class with him. When I first started learning Spanish on italki I wasn't sure about what to expect. I have always wanted to learn a new language, and I ended up choosing Spanish. I was quite apprehensive about the class at the beginning, I was also very hesitant with talking in Spanish. But Juan changed it all in a very positive way. I am so happy to have found such a smart, intelligent and fun loving person as my Spanish teacher.

Juan Carlos is very present and engaged in the classes. He is always respectful and creates a completely accepting atmosphere that facilitates learning. We talk about things that are of interest and he is very helpful with vocabulary assistance, grammar assistance and feedback.

Wow! I can’t believe it’s been three years of learning with Juan Carlos. Classes with Juan Carlos are a gift to myself- our classes are fun, safe to explore and make mistakes with Spanish, and like catching up with an old friend. I’m so proud of the progress I’ve made in my Spanish in these past three years. Even with just an hour a week (if I’m lucky…) and a chaotic life schedule, Juan Carlos makes this dedicated hour worth it, and like I never want to give up. Poco a poco! Gracias por todo Juan!
